  1. Chamundi Hills, emerged as a major centre for religious tourism.

On the city map of Mysore, draw two lines, one vertical and one horizontal through the center of the city (the palace). The right bottom quarter of the map is the greenest part of the city. Chamundi Hills is at the center of this quarter.

Chamundi Hills is the prime landmark of Mysore city, visible almost from anywhere in the city center. The hill has very close association with the founding of the city. In fact the very name of Mysore is associated with the hill.

Thanks to Mysore District Administration for making available this Yatra through Web

  3. The first stop in mysore was at Sri Chamundeshwari Temple(Located on the Chamundi hills which is around 13 KM from city), we reached there at 2:30 PM though we know the temple timings. So we had lunch on the hill top itself and waited till 3:30 till the temple opens. We had quick and special darshan. The Chamundi maata here is made of gold and looking very delighting.
There is a huge granite Nandi on the 800th step on the hill in front of a small Shiva temple a short distance away. This Nandi is over 15 feet high, and 24 feet long and around its neck are exquisite bells.
Your website reminded us our Mysore Trip and we seek the blessings of goddess chamundeshwari

  8. Two highly regarded Hindu points of interest call Chamundi Hill home. The first, Sri Chamundeswari Temple, sits atop the summit some 3000 feet high overlooking the hazy skies of Mysore, Karnataka. While the second, a monolith statue of Nandi the Bull, lies nestled in the hillside foliage.Combined with the temple, visitors should plan several hours to a half day. Numerous taxis, tuk tuk’s and buses run the hill daily for quick transportation to and from Mysore. Food services are available on the hilltop.
nice to see temple on the website

Administration and Temple Authorities have done a very good work by bringing the website on the Goddess Chamundi.

  13. The Bhagavad Gita contains the essential ideas and
governing principles of our cultural life and deal with man’s search
for eternal which is the source of truth and joy. Body, life and mind
are not to be despised they are the instruments of the life of spirit
in man. There is a responsibility laid on man as an individual to
integrate his life to relate the present to the past and the future,
to live in time as well as among the eternal energies. The man of
spirit, those filled with serenity, wisdom and joy are lovers of
humanity. Arise awake and approach the worthy ones and learn to
realize the truth. Narrow is the path and difficult to tread, sharp
the edge of a razor. But success sure to those dare and do.

Indian Vedic contribution is a reservoir of Vibrant Information and
Harmonious Creativity. May the womb of nature embrace all with
tranquil blessings from this day forward. Let this attract one's
attention affecting them positively. It is a Sanctuary of the Self a
Creative Venue which serves as an Enduring Expression of Lightness,
where a peaceful Atmosphere with Sunlight Flows and serene atmosphere
    prevail.

  16. Dear Temple Authorities,

Temple is very nice but i was very shocked by the behavior of priests when
I visited last month. This is the first time in my life I have experienced
such a horrible incidence. I observed that priests are very greedy and rude. They just wait for the money. One of the priests asked for money directly, that too just to put gandha prasada on our forehead. The one in front of Ganesha idol even refused to give theertham to my two and half year old kid. My kid, even at this age she is very devoted and she was very keen to receive the prasadam. When i requested the priest to give her the theertham, rather than giving theertham he went to the extent of telling me to go home, take a glass of water and give her spoon by spoon.
Later people nearby told me that his behaviour was the result of me not
putting money in his plate. This is when i understood that people are aware of this but none of them bother to complain.

In every religion kids are treated as gods.

I want to ask you people, is this a way to treat such a innocent child?

Who would like to come to the temples like this, where our deepest religious feelings get badly hurt?

I don't understand why they call themselves priests when they are nothing but beggars in priests cloths.

AFTER THIS INCIDENCE MY KID ASKED ME, WHY SHE DIDN'T RECEIVE THE THEERTHAM. I COULDN'T ANSWER THAT, CAN YOU?

  20. This is to the Temple Authorities..

Devotees used to chat of things other than god/temple during in a que. I kindly request the authorities concerned to arrange for Playing the songs-bhajans-mantras. So that devotees atleast try to hum with that and will not talk about other things in the temple vicinity.

  21. We wanted to bring to your notice that in the holy place when people ask kumkum the priests are selling it for 10rs for small packet to make money for themselves. Temple incharge are providing kumkum in free of cost but this people are selling it for 10rs per packet. The people who is doing puja inside garbhagudi are taking money and giving prasad. The policemen who is standing are taking money to leave people inside the border to see God near by.One of the priests asked for money directly, that too just to put gandha prasada on our forehead

If all such things happen in holy place people feel that temple is made only to take money not for doing prayers.

  23. Dear Devotees,

My name is manju and I have been visiting this temple since I was child. In all these years, what I have noticed and what is unchanged is, the thief's in the name of PRIEST's , day light robbery and Bribe. Almost all those junior and some of the senior priest's are corrupted. With heart full of anger and sadness, i am writing this comment and I hope one day , chamundi will teach them all a BIG lesson.

Don't give money to such people please. Try to raise your voice and fight against the corrupted people.

Shame on management people who are sitting blind on this matter.
